Mico, Texas, founded within 1911, is located in northeastern Medina County, Texas approximately 40 miles west of San Antonio. It consists of close to 600 souls & its zip code is 78056. Originally Mico was spelled MICO, which stood for a Medina Irrigation Company world health organization built the Medina Dam and Lake Medina and was originally built to be the workers camp for the 1500, primarily Mexicans, workers, who built a dam, & their families.
